Biggest Little Girl In Hugo, OK

Today is World Elephant Day, as animal rights activists aim to raise awareness of the world's largest land mammals and their dwindling populations in the wild.

In Hugo, Courtney Patterson with the Endangered Ark Foundation said his group strives to preserve Asian elephants.

"We're wanting to bring the world together to help elephants. What people don't know is they're very kind creatures and very smart. We want people to know how awesome these guys are," Patterson told KTOK.

He said Saturday is the one-year birthday observance for the foundation's baby elephant, named Dori Marie.

A birthday party and educational presentation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at the Endangered Ark Foundation in Hugo.
